Turning Everyday Moments into Something Extradonary
I never imagined that one day I would be building a business rooted in creativity, celebration, and joy. By training, I’m an engineer with a PhD — someone who thrives on structure, logic, and problem-solving. For years, I thought that would be my passion.
And then I became a mom.
Somewhere between bedtime stories, birthday parties, and watching my daughters grow, something shifted. I realized that while I still loved my career, I had this creative side of me that I had never fully explored — and I wanted to change that.
It all started small. I wanted to teach my daughter about entrepreneurship, so we signed up for a kids market. We made jewelry together and sold it to raise money for youth sports — something that is very close to our hearts as a family. What began as a simple idea quickly turned into something more.
Then came the birthdays.
Every year, I used my daughters’ birthdays as an excuse to try something new — to create, experiment, and bring a theme to life through food and design. From playful themes to magical celebrations, I found joy in building experiences, not just desserts. What started as one custom cake turned into another… then another… and before I knew it, people were asking me to create for their celebrations too.
At the same time, I became more aware of the ingredients in store-bought products — the preservatives, the shortcuts, the lack of care. I wanted something different. I wanted a place where people could come for thoughtfully made, small-batch creations — whether it was food, gifts, or something in between.
That’s how The Pixie Stand came to life.
What began with handmade jewelry soon grew into desserts, sourdough, and baked goods. That expanded into catering — inspired by my love for my mother’s cooking and the joy of sharing authentic Indian flavors that are hard to find here in the U.S. Over time, it evolved even further into creating full experiences: build-your-own food bars, custom dessert tables, personalized gift baskets, and artisan goods like candles and bath products. And somewhere along the way, it became so much more than I ever imagined.
Today, The Pixie Stand is a little bit of everything I love.
It’s a place where you can find delicious food, sweets, and breads made with care.
It’s a place for thoughtfully handcrafted artisan goods.
It’s a place for personalized gifts and meaningful experiences.
Whether it’s a custom dessert, a DIY taco or chaat bar, a curated gift box, or party favors for a special event — everything we create is designed to feel personal, intentional, and a little magical.
And at the heart of it all is our mission.
The Pixie Stand proudly supports youth sports. What started with my daughter selling at kids markets continues today, and every order helps support her journey in athletics, with the hope of growing that support to more young athletes in the future. My daughters are still part of this journey, and watching them learn, grow, and create alongside me has been the most meaningful part of all.
This business may have started as a small idea… but it has grown into something so much bigger — a way to bring joy, creativity, and connection into everyday life.
✨ Thank you for being a part of our story.
